Prayer is the simple act of a believer communicating with God. Paul urges prayer and supplication at all times, which would include times of worship (Eph. 6:18). In Colossians 4:2, he urges steadfastness in prayer accompanied with thanksgiving. Prayers in public worship should include praise, adoration, thanksgiving, repentance, intercession, and supplication (1 Tim. 2:1-2).
